# Join the dialogue on citizen involvement in Lolland Municipality

The Citizen Involvement Committee invites international residents and newcomers to a dialogue meeting for anyone interested in helping shape how Lolland Municipality works with citizen involvement in the future.

How can Lolland Municipality best involve its citizens? What do you think? Join one or more of the upcoming dialogue meetings and share your perspective.

In Denmark, municipalities often involve citizens through what is called *citizen dialogue*. This means inviting people to share their experiences, ideas and perspectives before decisions are made. It does not necessarily mean that citizens make the final decisions – but their input can help shape and improve them.

## Theme: How to engage newcomers

Join a citizen dialogue meeting focusing on how to better involve international residents in Lolland Municipality.

**Date:** Monday 4 May
 **Time:** 19:00–21:00
 **Location:** Maribo Library, Østre Landevej 33, 4930 Maribo

The meeting will be held in English and is open to everyone – whether you are new to the area or have lived here for a while. No prior experience is needed – just an interest in contributing to how citizen involvement is developed in Lolland Municipality.

## About the meeting

The meeting will be held as a workshop and will focus on methods and approaches to strengthen citizen involvement across the municipality.

You will gain insights into democratic participation and have the opportunity to contribute ideas that may influence future initiatives.

The dialogue meeting are facilitated by democracy advisors from We Do Democracy, who have extensive experience with citizen participation and democratic processes.

## From dialogue to action

The input gathered at the meetings will form the basis of an inspiration catalogue. This catalogue will be used to develop the committee’s formal mandate, including focus areas and approaches to participation.

The final mandate will be approved by the municipal council.

## Four meetings – four themes

This meeting is the second of four dialogue meetings organised by the Citizen Involvement Committee. Each meeting has its own theme, and together they explore a range of key topics related to citizen involvement in Lolland Municipality.

The other meetings will be held in Danish, but international residents are very welcome to participate.
