Advance voting in other municipalities
You can cast your advance vote for the municipal and regional elections at any advance voting location in Denmark, regardless of which municipality you live in.
This means that if you live in Lolland Municipality, you are allowed to cast your advance vote for the municipal election in Lolland at a Citizen Service Centre in another municipality, if that is more convenient for you.
Please note: You can only cast your advance vote for the Senior Citizens’ Council election at advance voting locations in Lolland Municipality.
It is easy and quick to vote in advance. Simply bring valid ID such as your health card, driver’s license or passport.
At the advance voting location, you will receive an envelope with ballot papers for both the municipal and regional elections. It is your choice whether you want to vote in both elections.
- On the ballot paper, you must write the name of a party or a candidate standing in your municipality or region. If you wish to vote for a specific candidate, write the candidate’s name and, if you wish, also the candidate’s party name or letter.
- Place each ballot paper in its own envelope.
- You will then receive a cover letter which you must sign. Afterwards, the envelopes with your ballot papers and the signed cover letter are placed inside an outer envelope.
The advance voting location sends the envelope to your home municipality, which makes sure it is delivered to your polling station before election day.
Staff are ready to guide you and answer questions when you arrive. An overview of the parties and candidates you can vote for in Lolland Municipality is available on site.
Booking a time
You can book an appointment to vote in advance – but it is not required. You are welcome to simply show up at the Library and Citizen Service in Nakskov or Maribo, or at Rødbyhavn Library, during the opening hours for advance voting. However, if you want to minimize waiting time, it may be a good idea to book an appointment in advance.
At the Library and Citizen Service Centres in Maribo and Nakskov, as well as at Rødbyhavn Library, the following assistive tools are available: black felt-tip pens, a non-handheld magnifying glass, and a non-handheld LED lamp.
In Nakskov, there is also a height-adjustable table and a magnification device with a screen (CCTV type).
If you change your mind after voting in advance, you can cast a new advance vote until 14 November 2025. It is your last vote that counts.
If you are unable to appear at the polling station due to illness or reduced mobility, you can apply to vote in advance in your own home.
You can apply from Tuesday 21 October, and the deadline for applications is 6 November at 18:00.
Application form
The application form will be available on this page once applications open. You can also collect the form at the Library and Citizen Service Centre.
If you receive home care, the social and health care staff (SOSU) will make sure you receive the application form and can also help you fill it in.
