Lolland Language School is a free program offered by Lolland Municipality to international newcomers aged 18 and above residing in the municipality. The school provides both daytime and evening classes as well as online courses.
Learning Danish can help foster a sense of belonging and support integration into Danish society. It can also make it easier to form new friendships and build a network.
Some companies require their employees to speak Danish or, at the very least, to have started their studies at the Language School.

In August 2021, Denmark's first international public school opened in Maribo. The international school offers a free, bilingual education for children aged 6-15, with priority given to children of international employees temporarily residing in Denmark.
Half of the teaching is conducted in English, while the other half is in Danish. Students are taught according to Cambridge-certified standards, providing them with strong language skills, global perspectives, a broad cultural understanding, and the opportunity to continue their education in other countries.
