# Charity Work

Denmark is a country known for its strong sense of community and commitment to social welfare, and volunteering is a big part of its culture. Volunteering is often an excellent way to get to know your local community better and, if needed, practise your Danish language skills.

## FrivilligCenter Lolland

FrivilligCenter Lolland is an organization that supports and assists voluntary social initiatives. As an umbrella organization, it works closely with Lolland Municipality and serves as a coordinating NGO for a network of more than 100 local voluntary and social initiatives.

It's primary services include practical support and guidance on volunteering, mainly for associations and organizations. However, it also helps residents find relevant networks, access support services, and become volunteers themselves.

In addition, the center also offers practical support to associations and volunteers. For example, you can book meeting rooms, get help with administrative tasks such as printing and copying, and receive guidance on how to start your own association or voluntary initiative. They have offices in both Maribo and Nakskov, where residents can receive support in person. It is recommended to make an appointment in advance.
