"Moving to the countryside can be an extra challenge, especially for city dwellers like me, so I can help other international people to find their place in the community, feel more integrated and start their life in the wonderful Lolland and fellow islands.

I am from Colombia, and I moved to Denmark in December of 2017. I am a Geologist and I am studying a Master in Climate Change at the University of Copenhagen, so I travel quite a lot between Copenhagen and Lolland. Since I moved to Lolland, I have been trying to get involved in different activities as a volunteer, and one of those is Iværksætter Lolland. This experience has been essential for me to feel more integrated into Danish society, while I can contribute to the development of the organisation and the local environment through my passion for sustainability, land use and food. I have lived in England and now Denmark, so I am familiar with all the challenges that moving to another country can bring.

This summer, I finished a course in Danish at a language school, so that I can communicate in Danish, English and, of course, Spanish.

I would love to guide you with the doubts you may have and some life hacks to settle quicker on Lolland. You can contact me via email."

Hello all. I am new to Denmark myself and love meeting new people and sharing experiences. My family and I moved to Denmark in November of 2019 and settled on Lolland in Hunseby (Maribo). My husband is Danish, and my children are now fluent. I am currently in Danish language classes and will finish in December 2022. I work full time for a Danish company that is part of the Femern project.

In my free time, I love to be with my family and friends outside somewhere. Kayaking is my new favorite sport. As a member of the steering group of the International Community Lolland Falster, I also stay busy and involved in the community.

I am originally from the United States, however, I grew up all around the world. I have lived in Greece, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa, and visited many other places. I understand the challenges of newcomers and love to help where I can. I absolutely love Denmark, especially Lolland, and I am ready to help in any way I can to make everyone more at home in our lovely countryside.

Feel free to contact me via SMS at 4026 6919, or email.

I am from Peru, married 44 years to a Dane. This is the third time I have moved back to Denmark. I know how challenging it can be to move from one country to another.

I worked as Bilingual Secretary at the Peruvian Embassy in Denmark, in this position I  helped diplomats fron Peru and staff members from the Embassy how to settle in Copenhagen.

My last position in Peru was as Manager of our Farm & Lodge, located in the Peruvian rainforest until set. 2019. Where we had many international guests, and I had the task of organizing many events, tours, booking, etc.

Currently, I am working as a volunteer at Red Cross in Maribo, twice a week. With this experience I would like to offer help and advice for to newcomers in Lolland.

I speak Spanish, English and Danish. If you have any questions you are welcome to  contact me, I will be very pleased to help you.
